Neutralising Filter Main principles NFSS Neutralising Filter The NFSS neutralising filter uses EWT compound as filter material. EWT compound consists of 99.1% calcium carbonate. Due to its micro crystal structure, EWT compound is superior to normal calcium containing materials. The filter house of the NFSS Neutralising filter is made from Stainless Steel 316L, which eliminates the corrosion problem. The EWT compound is active for pH control, even after the removal of high concentrations of iron and manganese. The NFSS Neutralising Filter is normally integrated in the production line, between the Reverse Osmosis Units or Evaporators and the fresh water tank. The pH of the fresh water flow out of the Reverse Osmosis Unit or Evaporator is normally less than neutral pH 7, often pH 5.5 to 6.5. The NFSS Neutralising filter neutralises the water to approximately pH 7. With a neutral pH the produced fresh water is not aggressive and will no longer deteriorate your galvanized and copper piping.
